Katharina is one of Indonesia’s original Phinisi queens—an elegant 38-meter classic with low-slung curves, a fascinating backstory, and enough soul to out-charm most modern yachts. Built in Kalimantan in 1995, she was originally intended as a traditional cargo ship until someone with taste and vision saw her potential. Following a thoughtful refit in 2014, Katharina now sails as a living tribute to traditional Indonesian seafaring, without sacrificing comfort.
With just six cabins and space for 12 guests, Katharina is intimate, authentic, and quietly iconic—ideal for private charters or character-filled shared voyages through Komodo, Flores, or the Banda Sea.

With space for up to 12 guests across six charming cabins, Katharina is tailored for families, small groups, or couples who don’t need 50 meters to feel like they’ve got the ocean to themselves. Every cabin is air-conditioned and designed with classic teak detailing and practical comfort in mind.

Katharina was built by the famed Bugis craftsmen of Kalimantan, using traditional methods passed down through generations, planking first, beams later, guided only by instinct and experience. A French naval architect redesigned her interior, merging old-world craftsmanship with Western comfort. The result is an elegant gaff-rigged ketch that feels equal parts vintage sailing vessel and modern boutique hotel.
Her 2014 refit introduced solar and wind power, upgraded systems, and newly designed staterooms, transforming her into a sustainable, seaworthy beauty that sails lightly on the planet.
